We print in house on a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4600. It is worth explaining what that actually changes for the thing that arrives at your door, because "professional printer" on its own means very little.
What it changes for your print
Colour that matches what you sent
The PRO-4600 is a wide-format pigment printer with an 11-ink set plus a chroma optimiser. In practice that means deeper blacks, and skin tones and fur that come out as they looked on the original photo rather than shifted warm or flat. Colour accuracy is the single most common complaint about cheap photo printing, and it is mostly an ink and profiling problem.
Pigment inks rather than dye
Pigment inks are more stable over time than dye inks. A print that lives on a wall for years holds its colour better, particularly reds, which are usually the first to go.
Detail at large sizes
It prints up to 44 inches wide, so a large canvas or poster is printed at full size in one pass rather than tiled or scaled down. That matters most on detailed images — group photos, landscapes, anything with fine texture.
What we print on it
- Personalised canvases, stretched and framed here.
- Fine art paper prints, on upgraded 260gsm stock.
- Hand-drawn portraits, once the artist has finished the artwork.
- Large format posters and photo prints up to 44 inches wide.
Why we mention the equipment at all
Because it is ours, and because it means nothing is outsourced. When we say we check every order before printing, that is possible precisely because the printer is in the same room as the person checking. If an image will not hold up at the size you have chosen, we find out before it is printed, not after it has shipped from somewhere else.
Common questions
What is the largest size you can print?
Up to 44 inches wide, with length depending on the material. If you need something unusual, ask us before ordering.
What paper do you use?
Our personalised art prints are on upgraded 260gsm paper.
Will the colours match my screen?
Close, but screens are backlit and paper is not, so a print is never identical to a bright phone display. We profile for accuracy rather than for punch. If colour is critical, tell us when you order.
